Food at Vineyards

I am going out to the LI vineyards for the first time on Saturday.

When I was in Sonoma, most vineyards also sold food (meats, cheeses, bread, etc..)

Are the Long Island Vineyards the same? Do they all sell food or do we need to pack a lunch.

TIA

Re: Food at Vineyards

Many vineyards have snacks and such in their gift shops.

Martha Clara has a lot of food to purchase, but I think it's greatly overpriced. Sometimes they have special events going on and have homemade things to get in their picnic area. Other vineyards have things ranging from just cheese & crackers (like Pindar) to food plates.

I would either pack a lunch and have a picnic or grab something out there somewhere else.

DH and I love stopping on Love Lane - and we visit the Three Village Cheese Shop for amazing cheeses to bring to tastings. Next door to it is a sweet shop with delicious chocolates.

Right across the street from them is an italian deli that makes very yummy sandwiches.

Whenever we go to the wineries we always bring our own food. Wineries don't mind if you bring food, just as long as you clean up.

I always pack a basket with cheeses & other snacks, sometimes even lunch.

All of the wineries have picnic areas.

Ditto. As others have said some places have food but it is usually overpriced. Most have very nice areas to eat so we pack a cooler and setup shop.

Re: Food at Vineyards

some do some don't. I usually pack a picnic as all of them allow you to use the picnic tables outside. Or we stop in Greenport for lunch or dinner after.

Re: Food at Vineyards

I would bring your own. Most offer cheese/crackers and chips. That's about it.

ETA: I forgot that Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyards has a ton of food. Chilli and other hot items.
