Follistim?

I am finally starting my stims tonight! YAY!!
I have never taken Follistim before, just wondering if anyone has experiences any side effects from it. (I will be taking 750 units per day).

Thanks.

ETA: another question:
when dialing up the dosage will it stop at some point when there is nothing left in the cartridge? (My cartridge is 900 units and I have already used 750, will it stop at 150?)

And - has anyone else started at such a high dosage (750 per day)?

Re: Follistim?

I used a similar dosage and didn't really experience any side effects. But I DID have a ton of bruising with the Follistim. After I bruised up my belly, I learned that icing before AND after the shot might help reduce some of the bruising.

In any case, GOOD LUCK!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Follistim?

I was on Follistim on my last cycle, I injected myself with 150 IUs only on CD 5, 7, 9, & 11... I didn't have any symptoms from it but that sounds like a lot less than for anyone I've read before Chat Icon I think that my whole month went to waste for no reason....Chat Icon For how many days will you be on it?

Re: Follistim?

I was on Follistim for both ivf cycles, but a low dose of 100 units b/c I responded too high too quickly to anything above that.
The shot is nothing, I promise. I was a big baby and was sweating just watching the video!
The only side affect I had, and posted here about, were terrible headaches. Many others respsonded on here that they had the same.
You will be fine! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon :

Re: Follistim?

i did 3 rounds of follistim, 150ius, 75ius, and 37.5ius. 75ius is my sweet spot - 150 is too much and 37.5 not enough.

the first cycle i got a little tired immediately after the shot. no other side effects besides bloating.. i bruised from it once too but only once out of three times.

Yes, you will stop at 150. The pen will just not "click" anymore. You'll then have to inject the other 600 from another cartridge.

Good luck!
