follies too big?

i had my first IUI/clomid experience this cycle. when i went for the CD11 u/s, I had 6 follies--2 big ones and 4 small ones.

when i went for my progesterone check yesterday I was asking how many viable follies it looked like i had when i did the IUI. she said the 2 bigs ones measured around 30 when i had the next u/s on CD17 (right before the trigger shot) and she didn't know if that was too big for them to be good. she said 2 others would have been around 18 by the time i had the IUI, and the last 2 stalled and were probably too small.

so is 30 too big? is 18 a good size?

18 is a better for trigger. 30 is way too big.

18 is considered mature. I have never heard of a follicle measuring 30, a cyst, yes, not a follie.

i called the doctor just to get it from the horse's mouth and he said the 16 was okay and that he was happy with the 30s too.

then he started talking about things that were a little over my head in that moment (had to rush off the phone)...evidence that 30 is too big is unproven, yadda yadda.

i guess we'll just have to wait and see. trying to not get my hopes up.

When I got pregnant this time, the one follie was measuring 28mm.

ETA: I was a bit taken aback too, I though 28 was too big, but apparently not.
