Flying at 28 weeks

I can't fathom my comfort level at 28 weeks. I'm only 16 weeks now but feeling just fine this whole pg so far.

To those of you who are around 28 weeks do you think you would be comfortable flying and taking a vacation? We had this trip booked before I got pg and really want to go but am nervous about the flight (8 hours) and being uncomfortable or tired.

Thanks!

Isn't 28 weeks the 3rd trimester?? I know my OB would not let me travel on a plane that late in my pg.... nevertheless an 8 hour flight!

The threat of a blood clot in my legs would be enough to scare me away!

I'll be 29 weeks on Monday and while I think you are allowed to fly at that this time, I doubt I would've wanted to be on a plane this week. This week it has started to become uncomfortable.

Thanks! we actually fly home at 27W 4 days. The doctor said I was fine to fly but I worry about the comfort. It seems my intuition might be right!!! Chat Icon

I flew from CA to NY and back (6 hours each way) for my shower at 28 weeks. It was really fine! I had an easy pregnancy and I was comfortable and had no problems. Chat Icon

8 hours. Unless I walked a lot on the plane I would worry about blood clots

Re: Flying at 28 weeks

I'm not sure. I am 30 weeks now and while I do get uncomfortable I personally would be more nervous about being so far away from home heaven forbid something were to happen. Then again as more time goes on I have been getting more and more nervous/paranoid so that's just my neurotic opinion!

I'm 28 weeks and I would totally feel comfty flying. Just drink tons of water and make sure you have an aisle seat to get up and move around. I'm flying at 31 weeks, only to florida though.
