I hope this isn't a stupid question, but I was wondering if you are able to fly on a plane if your PG?

my Doc said its okay as long as you are not at your last months.

You have to check with your doc but some airlines dont let you on a plane after a certain month. Check with them depending on when you want to fly

2nd Trimester is the best time to fly.

I am 10 weeks now and just got back from two days in San Juan and then left from there on a cruise. It was a 4 hour plane ride each way. My doctor told me no problem with flying - just drink plenty of fluids and get up and take a short walk or stand up about 1 time an hour. The earlier you fly the better as many airlines restrict travel in late pregnancy.

I wasn't expecting this, but I was told today that I can't fly!
I'm a little over 12 weeks and I'm supposed to go to Europe later this month for work. Now my client is in a big bind because I can't go. My boss asked me if I could take a boat!?!

I know it's not worth the risk (the doc said the placenta could rupture during the 9 hour flight - whoah.) Still, I just announced the PG at work today and it's already hindering my job a bit.

Anybody else have this happen? I'm very glad I told them at work because I can't imagine coming up with an excuse to not fly!

I think usually if your pregnancy is not having any complications, they will let you fly pretty far into your pregnancy.

I was told by my doctor not to fly after my Level II because it showed a low lying placenta. I guess there are bigger risks if there are issues like that????

I know you get dehydrated on flights and you need to get up and move around to keep blood circulating in your legs. Best bet is to just ask your doctor!

ETA: My maid of honor had to tell me 4 days before my wedding she couldn't come because her doctor told her she couldn't fly... she was 4 months pregnant at that point!

I am very curious about this! If I can't fly, I am going to have some big problems too!

I just got back from my Dr. and I asked this question as I want to home to England, he said once I am comfortably into 2nd trimester and not later than 33 weeks it is fine to fly, just get up every hour and walk around as pregnant women are more susceptable to deep vein thrombosis and drink lots of water

It is safest in your 2nd trimester.

I am 17 weeks and just flew back from CA...I didn't have any problems. A week before that I flew to Florida. I would just check with your Doctor.
