flying - can I gate check the infant car seat???
does anyone know if i can gate check the infant car seat at laguardia airport? is there a fee for gate checking? we are going to florida tomorrow and i plan to take our city mini. right now i have the car seat adapter on and we still use the carrier on the stroller. can i go through the airport like that and can i gate check it when we get to the plane?? thanks.. im stressed about flying with soooo much stuff and i want to avoid having to check lots of bags since they charge per bag on delta...
also, do i need to bring any id for the baby? we didnt buy her a seat.

I was able to gate check my car seat and base a few months ago for free. I don't remember if I went to lga or jfk and I don't remember what airline I flew, lol. I did not need id for the baby.

Yes you can gate check the car seat and stroller.
I'd bring a copy of the birth certificate just in case ( I've never been asked).

When we flew over the summer, we gate checked the infant seat and stroller with no problem. We left the country so we needed a passport, so I'm not sure what you will need if you are flying domestically. Have a great trip!
