Flu Shot- Breastfeeding
So I went to get a flu shot at CVS and the lady said they couldnt give it to me since I was breastfeeding and that I need to get a flu shot that is preservative free... is this true?? Why cant I just get the one at CVS?

There's nothing wrong with getting the one at CVS. They just do that to cover their own behinds so no one can have a reason to sue them. I'm pregnant and there was a nurse that came to my job during my first trimester to offer flu shots to the staff. She told me she wasn't allowed to administer it to women in their first trimester. I asked my doc about it andhe said it's perfectly safe, it's just to cover themselves.

I got the preservative free one at cvs. I got the same one when I was pregnant. Maybe they just didn't have it in stock. Call another cvs and see if they have it.

I think the regular one is perfectly fine. Last year DD's ped gave it to me before she was old enough to get the shot herself. He knew I was bfing and I trust that he wouldn't have given it to me if there was any risk for DD.

That lady is wrong! Go to another Cvs.
A) I got a preservative free shot last month from CVS bc I'm pregnant.
B) I got a regular Flu Shot while BFing...my ped said to was perfectly fine.
Double check with your ped, but is find a new CVS.
