Re: Floor to ceiling curtains
I have drapes in almost every room: *DD's Bedroom = silk w/puddle *Dining Room = silk w/puddle *Master Bedroom = silk w/slight puddle *DS's Nursery = silk just touching floor *Family Room = heavy cotton just touching floor
ETA: I just noticed you're looking for "Floor to Ceiling". Are you referring to when drapery hardware & the drape are close to the ceiling? if that's the case, we only did that in the Master Bedroom. Otherwise all the other rooms are about 2-4 inches above the window molding/trim.

Re: Floor to ceiling curtains
Depening on your ceiling height, you may have to get them custom made. I think the longest length that's carried stock in stores is 108" - which is 9ft.
We have them pooling on the bottom in our dining room, but we don't have them mounted at the base of the ceiling, it's a few inches under.

We have them pooling on the floor in our living room and in our master bedroom but they are not all the way up to the ceiling. I love this look!

I never considered the word "drapes" old fashioned. They still use it in current decorating mags! When I think of curtains, I think of more casual & lighter fabrics. Doesn't mean it's correct, but that's what comes to my mind. (Probably because of the catalog & stores "Country Curtains". )

Re: Floor to ceiling curtains
I had this in my last apartment, before I lived with DH ... they were a deep purple velvet. I miss them sooo much!
I don't have any pictures on the computer though, sorry.

Re: Floor to ceiling curtains
My drapes puddle in the DR and go to just slightly above the floor in the LR (both silk). The panels are mostly hidden by the sofa, so I didnt want to waste money on fabric that would even be seen! DD's room and the guest room go to the floor (cotton). When we re-do our MB, I will puddle them slightly.

Re: Floor to ceiling curtains
I was told that I would have to have them custom made also. I have two windows flanking our fireplace in our family room/living room that has 20' ceilings.
