First Shellac manicure
So I got my first one 2 weeks ago. I did love it and plan on doing it again. However, I went today to soak it off and get a regular mani and they charge me $5 for soaking it off!!! I was in shock! never did they mention this. I was a little ****** about it. IS this the norm???

Re: First Shellac manicure
I soaked a cotton ball with nail polish remover and held it to my nails with aluminum foil. I left my nails this way for about 20 mins and it came off pretty easily.

Re: First Shellac manicure
I agree with the at-home soaking...
That's absurd that they charge 5 for soaking off....the entire bottle of acetone probably isn't $5 and it's not like they are "doing" labor...the friggin cotton ball and acetone is doing all the work...wow!

Re: First Shellac manicure
I have had several gel manicures and also Shellac - at several different nail places - and have NEVER been charged for that. I think that's nuts!

Re: First Shellac manicure
I never had to pay for soaking it off. I stopped after the 3rd one though. It really damaged my nails. 2 months later and they are still so weak.
