First Response Fertility Test.....Reliable or not?
I just took one on the 3rd day of AF. It says I have normal FSH levels. Do you think I should believe it? I'm 39 so I thought it couldn't hurt to try it and see the results. Obviously the FSH blood test is the way to go. Your thoughts? Has anyone used these before? Thanks Ladies.

Re: First Response Fertility Test.....Reliable or not?
I'm no expert on these but I *think* these tests will only tell you if your FSH is higher than 20 or 25... many REs and OBs consider anything over 12 to be very high, so even if the home test is saying "fertile" there is still the possibility that your FSH could be higher than doctors prefer... that's why the blood test is a better test. Good luck!

IMO - I think it's another money making way of driving TTC couples crazy.
Unless it's giving you the actual FSH levels, I would not waste my $$ on it.
As a side note, FSH levels can fluctuate month to month too.

Re: First Response Fertility Test.....Reliable or not?
Personally I'd wait to see if I had problems conceiving and then see a Dr. I can't imagine something over the counter could be very reliable for something like that.
I was going to get one becuase I had a feeling I had fertility issues- but then I got preggo right away.
I wouldn't put too much stock in it

Re: First Response Fertility Test.....Reliable or not?
i'm not sure how accurate those are, but i remember seeing on a show that those are good if it comes back telling you that your FSH is low, because it can give your practitioner a better idea of where to go from there. it's good that yours came back normal, but keep in mind that it's not giving you the whole picture. HAving a normal FSH at 3 days doesn't necessarily mean that you will ovulate, and doesn't tell you anything about your luteal phase, etc. so I don't think it's worth the money. JMO
