First IUI scheduled *UPDATED*
i got the call this morning that i have to go in tomorrow morning for my first IUI! i'm excited and anxious
turns out i am surging on my own so need to take the Ovidrel i have at home......
any advice? what do i expect tomorrow during and after the procedure?
***** the IUI wasn't bad at all! I am doing another one tomorrow morning......So when do I start counting my DPOs? Thanks for all the responses*******

YAY!  There really isn't anything much to an IUI. They will "wash" the swimmies to get the best and strongest. They insert them with a very thin catheter. You really don't feel a thing. It takes about a minute. My dr has you lay there for about 10 minutes and then you are up and about your business for the day. Good luck!!!

I had my first IUI Monday! Trust me, it is so much simpler than you can imagine... it took 5 minutes! They insert a speculum, then they ease the catheter in, and before you know it, the sperm is injected!
Then, the RE took the internal sono thing (you know, the thing with the thing on it lol )
and showed us the sperm and where it was swimming. They also measure your follie and tell you when you need to come back- probably tomorrow if you just surged!
Then, you relax for 10 minutes and go home. I have a very curved cervix so it took them awhile to get the cath through, but once they did it was fine.

sometimes after iuis you can have cramping but minor...but honestly is so simple and fast!! gl!

good luck!!!!!! like pp have said it is over in 5 min!..i have had some cramping and even small bleeding after but it is not bad at all! u will be fine!
