After 11 unsuccessful months of ttc on our own, we have decided to do a clomid/IUI cycle. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. We are paying OOP and I am nervous if it doesn't work we will have to wait months to try it again.
Has anyone had success on their first clomid/IUI cycle?! Is it crazy to think it could happen on the first try?!
It's hard to say if it could probably work on the first try. For many people it does.. though for many people it doesn't. You should speak to your RE about your specific situation to see what he/she thinks the odds are.
Good Luck - that is the course of action I'm on right now too. Last month I took 50mg Clomid and and HCG trigger shot but still didn't O well. This month I took 100mg and go for a u/s tomorrow. Thinking I'll take trigger shot tomorrow and and have IUI on Friday. Hoping the second time works for me!!
Mine happened on our first try! I'll be 20w tomorrow.
Our problem was that I have 70-ish day cycles and often don't ovulate on my own. First month of Clomid and I ovulated on CD19, only one follie (which they consider a "failure" because it took so long and only got one), but they went ahead with the IUI and I got my BFP 12 days later.
