First Dr Appt
I switched Dr's in btwn this pregnancy and my last (4 yrs ago). I called my new Dr today (got my BFP on Friday) and they don't want to see me until I am 8 weeks. With my other dr I went in right away and took a urine test then was sent for bloodwork. Just wondering what the norm is..........

Re: First Dr Appt
I personally love that my current OB believes the first few weeks are the most important and wants to see you as soon as you get the BFP. I know all doctors are different, but I'm happy mine (who I only saw for the very first time when I knew I was pregnant) has the ASAP mindframe. He put me on extra folic acid and baby aspirin and Prometrium, which I think made all the difference in the world.
Congrats and good luck!

Re: First Dr Appt
I'm 5 weeks and will be 7 weeks when I see my doc for my first appt. They would let me come in now if I wanted to, just to confirm but I said I would wait until 7 weeks.

Mine won't see you until you're 8 weeks. In the meantime, make sure you're taking a prenatal vitamin, but other than that, just rest up and wait it out. The time will fly, and you'll probably get a sono then and be able to see the heart beat!

Re: First Dr Appt
My dr didnt see me until 8 weeks but I had been seeing and RE (even though I ended up PG on my own) so my RE did blood tests and my first sono at 6weeks.
A normal OBGYN is usually at 8 weeks.
