SO glad I started her a little earlier (She went to school on August 2, 3, 6 & 7). The first day was a complete melt down. Second day was a lot less but still not as smooth. Last Monday & Tuesday it got easier if she saw a particular teacher.
Today it was WONDERFUL. Drop and leave ease. Hug Kiss see ya later mama.
And today its real Pre-School too. I mean it was real before at 3 but I feel like she’s so much better prepared for ‘real’ school now. She’s got the letter and number thing down (still can’t totally get to 20 consistantly but whatever). She’s got sounds and letter phonics down. She’s begun sight words and can name them if she sees them.
She’s got a new exercise we started with her that she puts words together in puzzles and it reads the word and shows her the item. So she’s starting to learn that ANT means Ant and it sounds out each sound as she puts it in place. She learned quickly that ANT is always ant even if she puts the T at the end first then the A and the N in the middle or the N in the middle A in front then T or A then N and T. A-N-T always equals Ant. Freaked me out a little to sit there and have her show me this. She sat and explains it to me slowly showing me the three ways to misspell but still spell Ant. Then she had me ‘try it’ LOL I tried to put the N in front and she said “No mama, silly, the N is in the middle for ant” well alrighty then! Sheesh
I have changed teachers and I’m REALLY hoping this works out!
I am probably way too over excited for this year! LOL

and thats great that she is showing you how to spell the word and that the other spellings are wrong, she really is getting it

Thanks everyone. Auntie got her the shoes :) Unfortunately mom got her the skort from Old Navy. I have to say my aunt was right.... the Nautica ones from Macy's were nicer ha! She has one of those in blue and the cute jumper in beige.
