First Birthday Activities
My DS first birthday is in March. We decided to have it at my parents house. It is mostly going to be adults but a few children between the ages of 18months to about 7. Do I need to do activities with the children? Should I just get coloring books or activity sets? We are having a baby mickey themed party. i was thinking if we do have some of the older children to do a pinata. Any suggestions?

Re: First Birthday Activities
For my DS 1st B-Day we had: - Coloring table (Go on Disney website and print out coloring pages, it's free). - We had it outside so I went to Target and got some outside games (Ring toss, bowling, sidewalk chalk, soccer & golf - They were on sale for $10). - You can do musical chairs - If it's indoor's, do you have a Wii or x-box? Was going to say set that up and let the kids play that against eachother. - You can do an arts & crafts table, maybe cut out Mickey heads and let the kids decorate them.
There are so many things you can do that are cheap and kids would love.

Re: First Birthday Activities
For DD's first birthday (and probably second) I did: -A coloring table -A play doh table (I got cookie cutters, accessories, etc.) -A fruit loop table (fruit loops and string to make necklaces, this was a BIG hit and the kids were munching on their necklaces all day) -Bubbles -Water/Sand Table
Her birthday is April, but it was beautiful and fine to do water.

Re: First Birthday Activities
Thanks everyone. My parents have a basement so I'll have them do arts and crafts things downstairs (the messy stuff-play doh, glue, etc.)
This is why I am glad we are doing it at my parents and not mine because we don't have a basement. I may ask my dad to move the x-box downstairs. Thanks again for the suggestions. I really appreciate it!

First Birthday Activities
I wouldn't waste money on activities. I had a few kids for my DS party and they were all entertained with each other or their parents.

Re: First Birthday Activities
Get a cheap ballpit and a tunnel! They were big hits at my twins 1st b-day.
