First birthday

What are you doing!? I'm conflicted. Just family (immediate), extended, friends of my lo?
Where. We live in an apartment so it would be too crowded even w my immediate family. Anyone have any suggestions for a nassau county venue? Nothing big. Like 25 adults and 10 or so kids?
I really don't want anything too big or spend too much :-/

im having the exact same dilemma. Once you invite one person out of immediate family it opens the flood gates.

First birthday

We did the same thing for my DS's 1st and 2nd. Had grandparents and our siblings over for pizza and cake. It was about 15 people. Its perfect and my little guy is perfectly happy and so is my wallet. We take a bit of money and put it in his college fund instead.

Re: First birthday

Just us & the grandparents if they can come. Lunch & cake at home. I bought some decorations, party hats & he'll open gifts & we'll take pics. Nothing big.

First birthday

We are just gonna have cake & lunch with family and friends. Going to take that money we would have spent on a big party and go on vacation to PR.

Re: First birthday

We live above my parents and also don't have room for anything huge. We decided for her first birthday we would do something big. Her party was at Domenicos in Levittown. They were excellent and very reasonable. We invited immediate and extended family and close friends. From now on though, we are just going to do something small with our parents and siblings and their kids. Well prob have something small with our friends also, but nothing that involves extended family or it gets too crazy.

First birthday

We had about 20 people (including the three of us) - did draw lines with family and friends but in a way that worked out. It was perfect, DH and I each had a friend, an extended family member, plus our parents and siblings. It was a nice size, but not too big. I would do the same for a second someday.
