Fire yesterday on Rte 109 in Lindenhurst/ West Babylon

Does anyone know anything about this fire?

We drove past the Old deli that they closed down a year or two ago and all we saw was about 20 fire trucks putting a fire out. It was burnt to the ground.

At first I thought that they (fire dept.) was doing a controlled fire kind of thing because for the past few weeks, I saw that they were tearing the building down.

DH said they don't do that.

Anyone know anything?

It was just a drill. FDs do drills on Sundays and often they'll get access to buildings like that deli for that reason.

Yep - just a drill. I live down the block. They did the controlled burns on Tuesday & Wednesday nights and then tore it down the other day - thank GOD! It was such an eyesore

The flames on Tuesday were something to see though! Over the treetops...we walked down just to watch

Are you kidding me? they did the controlled burns Tuesday and Weds? I come home everyday and pass there and I did not notice the building was gone!!!!!!!!!!

We saw it on Sunday around 12:00 in the afternoon and there were a whole bunch of fire trucks and smoke.
