Fire Island ferry question
Does anyone know if the fire island ferries are equipped with life vests? I may go to Atlantique this weekend and I really hate boats. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb or paranoid question. TIA!

I'm sure that legally they have to be for the amount of passengers that it can carry. They do not have you put them on when you are on the boat though, they would likely only pass them out in the event of an issue.

Coast guard regulations are that all boats commercial or not need life preservers.

Re: Fire Island ferry question
They do.
DH and I also recently went canoeing and by law they had to supply us with life jackets....it was up to us to wear them or not.

Yes and as soon as you board you'll likely be able to see where they are. They're often tucked in the ceiling and in storage areas all over the ferries.
