fingers crossed!
every year I make hundreds of christmas cookies, and give them to my friends and family
one very traditional german recipe (spice cookies) I've never got right. you roll them out and imprint designs on them... the designs are SUPPOSED to remain on the baked cookie, but when I bake it, it always disappears.
this time, I'm modifying the recipe drastically, and crossing my fingers...
hopefully, I'll see birds and pine cones coming out of the oven!

wooo hoo! I got it to keep the stamped shapes this time!
I reduced the butter by about 30% and reduced the baking soda by 25%.
sooo writing this info down!
they taste great too
