Finding out the sex today? UPDATE
I have my 17 week appointment today and might find out the baby's sex. We were so torn about doing this, as we didn't find out with DD and loved it, but we have a lot of work to do around here before DC 2 arrives, and it would just make things less stressful. I don't want to get my hopes up, though, because my doc's sono machine is not the best and the baby might not cooperate!

Personally I LOVED finding out!!!!
I was in shock for days and days!!! And it really made the pregnancy so much more real for me. I also felt like it helped me bond a little better with the baby... knowing it's a she and not an it anymore. It was just a sweet and shocking moment!!
now I just can't wait to see what she looks like!!!!

to the op.. i found out at 16 wks when we had the amnio done, and the amnio results 100% confirmed what we saw on the sono

The sugar is supposed to get the baby moving so you have a better chance of seeing the goods (as opposed to a baby with crossed legs that just stays put).

Update -- no luck!  The baby's legs were open, but the doctor's machine isn't great and he said he saw a line, and no penis, but he didn't see 3lines either. He said it could be that he was hiding his penis and the scrotum is still too small, or that it is a girl and the sono was not clear. He refused to say which one he thought bc he just wasn't sure. Oh well-- I guess my purse will get to relax for another few weeks!
