filet mignon from bjs????
i've always paid big and gotten it from the butcher...
has anyone tried a filet mignon from bjs.. i'm having a large dinner party and my husband is insisting we save money by buying it at bjs..
same taste?
how did you cook it?

I don't know about BJ's... but it's ON SALE for $3.99 a pound at Best Yet! That's a KILLER price so if you are looking to save you should try to get down there!

I haven't tried the filet mignon from there but I always get my steaks from BJ's Very, very good quality. I would imagine the filet would be good too.
Westen Beef is good too.

I got it last time Best Yet had it on sale for $3.99 a lb. We cut into steaks and still have a few in our freezer! They were great. But I also have bought from BJ's and Costco and they are real good also!

I don't know about BJs but during the summer we got awesome filet mingnon steaks from Fairway. They were petite little things but so tender..I think there were about 12 steaks for $22.

DH is an avide griller/steak lover and know a lot about steaks and different cuts and he says they are OK. You can find some that are great and some that are not so great. We have tried their filet mignion and while they are not as good as the ones from a good butcher, they are perfectly fine. From what I remember the main problem was that they were not cut as thick as they should be... but that could depend on a specific BJ's or the meat guy having a bad day...

I've never had the filet, but we've bought skirt and flank steak and t-bones from there and they are great! I would buy their filets in a heartbeat.
