Had my 1st fig of the season this past weekend off of our tree. Man I love those things!

My grandmother used to have fig trees in her back yard when i was growing up and I remember picking them right off the tree and eating them.. ahhh the memories!!!

While we're on the topic, do you guys bother with them in the winter and let them be.........or do you"winterize" them?

My dad winterized his trees. I remember making fun of him because it was HILARIOUS - they were all wrapped in black plastic with a bucket on top. But even though we got a few figs.. the fruit never fully matured. How many years did you have the tree before it provided a good yeild?

If by winterize you mean, covering them up with garbage bags and all that jazz...yes we do. But I can't take all the credit - lol. My in-laws take care of that Chat Icon.

Yes, that is what I mean by "winterizing". My uncle used to do the same thing and he always had a ton of figs in the summer.

Meanwhile, my friends MIL doesnt do anything to hers in the winter, she just leaves it alone....and her fig tree is beautiful!
