Fifths Disease
DS (he is 6 years old) came home from school last week with a letter that a child in his class has Fifths Disease. Now he has it  If your DC had Fifths Disease, how long did it take for the rash to go away? The pediatrician said about a week or so but I was wondering if any one had experience with this. TIA!

Not sure but DD#2 this year got 6 letters since Oct saying she had been exposed. We haven't had it that I am aware of (no slapped cheeks and ped has not mentioned it at sick visits but the letters does say some have nonspecific symptoms. It must really be going around this year. I have never gotten more than one note a year in the past.

Fifths Disease
I had it in 5th grade. I believe the rash went away in a few days, a week max. It really isn't bad -- I was only out of school for one day and felt fine but was just scared because of the rash!

Maybe a week,.....it looks worse than it is, hang in there, it'll be over soon! Just stay away from pregnant women.
