Fifth Disease?
Anyone have experience with this? I think DD (8 months) has it and I just started to do some research online. She developed a cold -- was congested, had a runny nose, minor cough. I chocked it up to the typical daycare cold. She then developed what I thought was a bright red rash on one of her cheeks. I chocked this up to a combo of the cold and teething. The redness varies throughout the day and at times looks fine but at other time looks like its on fire. There is also a "scaley" aspect to it. I've been putting Aquaphor on it, but nothing really seems to help it. Does this sound like Fifths? It seems that since its viral, the only treatment is to let it take its course.

Fifth Disease?
Funny, I thought my 13 month old might have it the other day. Two nights ago her one cheek was suddenly all red. Within a short time the other one was too. It was almost bedtime so I put her down and by morning it was pretty much gone. That night get cheeks and chin were red again. Today, fine again. From what I read, your lo seems to fit the bill. Dd was sick but that was almost 2 weeks before and it was mainly a stomach issue and maybe a very mild fever. Curious to hear other's experience.

Fifth Disease?
It presents differently in adults than in children, but I had it when I was 30. Hands down one of the worse illnesses I've had. I had a low grade fever for five or six days. I did not want to eat ANYTHING. At all. My joints ached, including the ones at the end of my fingers. After the fever went away I had a rash for a couple of days. My appetite and joints were affected for a few weeks.
My doctor said even if they did a blood test and it was fifths, it's viral so the treatment is to run its course.

Fifth Disease?
Usually there is a spiderweb like rash that is on the trunk of the body, along with cheeks that look freshly slapped. Once those symptoms present themselves, the virus is already passed contagious. I caught it from one of my nursery students when I was 26 and it was the worst pain id ever been in, I couldn't even hold a pencil! It's way worse for adults than children.
