Fibroid
At my first ultrasound, the tech told me I have a fibroid in my uterus. She said they were common and my doctor didn't seem worried at all, also said they're common. Does anyone else have one? Was your doctor concerned? Can it interfere with pregnancy in any way?

Re: Fibroid
I have small ones and they weren't concerned. They just watch them. They are really only an issue if they are large and they can cause pain sometimes.

Fibroid
My co-worker has a really large one. She told me that her dr has been keeping an eye on it, she is 31 wks now. I believe it caused her some discomfort a few wks ago but it was short lived and now she doesn't feel it.

Re: Fibroid
I was told the exact same thing at my first scan. At each appt since they have said it shouldn't interfere at all and is very common!

Re: Fibroid
I had one that I didn't even know I had until my Dr did my first sono at my first visit. He said it wouldn't interfere at all with my pregnancy. And it didn't. I never had an ill effects from it and never even knew I had it. After I gave birth he just wanted to do an internal sono at my 6 week PP check up to see if it had grown at all It hadn't so I had no further follow up.

Re: Fibroid
I have a rather large fibroid and my doctor was never concerned with it causing any issues with pregnancy. I have my first appointment on Thursday and I'm nervous that the fetus may have implanted too close that it may cause issues down the road but most people go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and the fibroid causes no issues.

Re: Fibroid
Apparently I have two.
My doc was not concerned but since i was he explained you can live with them forever as long as they don't cause pain or bleeding.
Mine are positioned on the outside so they won't interfere with pregnancy growth. They will monitor them though.
