Fence help ladies!!!!

I am a person who believes in continuity with things such as fences. I am looking to put one up around our house and want the same fence design all around, duh!

However, I was told by someone that we should put up the lattice design around the left and right sides of the house, but put a solid fence along the back. Our yard isn't that big, so standing in the center of our yard you can clearly see the fence to the left, right and in the back of the house.

Am I wrong to think that this is an absurd thing? What's your opininon?

Re: Fence help ladies!!!!

I think the solid fence offers more privacy...if that is not an issue, than it's really just a matter of what you think looks better.

Personally, I'd do solid all around...but that's just me.

Re: Fence help ladies!!!!

I have lattice in the front and solid around the rest.

I originally was going to put all solid but someone recommended the lattice in the front. This way, if you hear someone pull in the driveway, for example, you can just look through the lattice instead of opening the gate. I am so glad that I got the lattice, for this reason and also because it looks really nice with the lattice in the front.

We have the same all around, and I liked that. You can see through the slat in the gate, and where it meets the house, if necessary.

Same all around the yard. THe front is a different story. I have lattice in the front and solid eveywhere else. Dont mix side and back though. The only time mixing is ok is in the front, IMO.

Re: Fence help ladies!!!!

We have the straight style all around, and it offers a ton of privacy, a friend has the lattice and in her yard you see can see right into the neighbors yard. There is not much privacy, and when spending that much on a fence i wanted to really get the most for the money

Our fence guy actually put it up to about 6'4 he was able to make it a lil higher and its great
