feeling down about weight gain
I know this is silly but I am feeling really down about my weight gain. I just saw some pictures of me and my face looks so swollen I am embarassed for anyone to even see them. I am so greatful and happy to be pregnant and only have 5 weeks to go but its really upsetting me.
My doctor said to try not to gain more then 30 lbs and I am probably at 40 lbs at this point. I feel so blah and unhappy about how i look. Am I being crazy for being down? Anyone else feel this way? I know the end is almost here but my hormones are geting the best of me.....

Re: feeling down about weight gain
I am up 30lbs and do not care at all. It took 2 years to get PG and as long as the baby is healthy then I really could care less about how I look. Its all for a good cause.

Re: feeling down about weight gain
I totally understand. It took us 2 years to get pregnant, I gained weight with the injectables and progesterone and I am still down about. I just try and watch as much as possible. I drink at least a gallon of water a day which I feel helped. My Doctors office said they wont say anything unless my weight gain is excessive. I was always on the thin side and watched what I ate so its hard. I just tell myself that I am ok, the baby is okay and I swear I will loose it ASAP.

Re: feeling down about weight gain
I understand what you are going through. I lost a lot of weight before getting pregnant .. 157 lbs --- and still had about 70 lbs to get to my goal when we concieved. My doc and I talked a lot about pregnancy weight gain when I went for my first appointment and he said he would be OK with me maintaining my current weight throughout the pregnancy instead of gaining at all. Instead I have gained 12 lbs, and he even said to me the other day that for someone who started out 70 lbs overweight, it's a LOT to have gained by 21 weeks. It made me feel really bad about it. I've been trying to tell me that it was OK, and that lots of women gain 12 lbs by 21 weeks, but after he told me that it is a lot, it's been sitting on my mind and it makes me dissapointed in myself.
I am just hopefully that I can get back into the routine of taking care of my health when the baby is born. I am also hoping that I'll be able to take lots of long walks around the neighborhood and parks iwth the baby, and I know that will help.
It is really difficult for women to be 100% comfortable in their skin, we have so many issues! And pregnancy is a wonderful, amazing, beautiful thing but it is also hard to see our bodies change so much. It brings out a lot of mixed feelings about our apprearance!

I feel the same way! This is my 3rd pregnancy and it was a surprise, and I was working out hard and loosing weight before I found out I was preggo, I was almost at my goal weight, well that went out the window lol I'm almost 34 weeks and feel huge and depressed about it, can't wait to have so I can diet and start working out again!

Re: feeling down about weight gain
I understand how you feel, my OB keeps getting on me for my weight because I was overweight before pregnancy, but I just tell myself I will make every attempt to lose it, I too struggled with IF so for now I am just blessed to be pregnant
