Feel stupid asking this but...

Of all the things Ive cooked I've never actually made baked ziti. I just want a basic recipe with ricotta and mozerella cheeses. All the ones I find online have extra stuff in it. So how do I make baked ziti? If it matters Im probably gonig to be cooking 2 lbs. of pasta. TIA!

Re: Feel stupid asking this but...

Are you including meat? If so:

1. Cook the ground meat on a deep skillet. When it's done, add enough sauce and let it cook together for 10 minutes or so.

2. Boil pasta

3. Add enough sauce to pasta.

4. Start layering pasta in a pan. Add a layer of ricotta cheese, mozzarella, and parmesan. Continue to add pasta and make layers. Make sure you sprinkle mozzarella on the top.

* For 1 pound of pasta, I use 15 oz of ricotta, and 15 oz of mozzarella. It's very hearty and lasts us 3 days.

ETA: Forgot to mention that I bake it at 350 for 40 minutes.

Re: Feel stupid asking this but...

Mine is pretty simple too and it is the easiest thing to make and I consider it one of my best dishes.

Layer of sauce

Layer of Ziti

Layer of Ricotta mix-I do not combine everything though. The ricotta gets mixed with an egg, garlic, onion, parmesan cheese and s&p.

Layer of cut up, not shredded mozzarella cheese.

Another layer of sauce

Another layer of ziti

etc.

350-1 hour
