feeding question
How many ounces per every 3-4 hours should a newborn eat? DD has two and shortly after that seems like she wants more. I don't want to overfeed her litte belly.

Re: feeding question
Our DDs are 3 weeks and are now up to 3 to 3 1/2. Dr. told us that we should fill the bottle to 3 and if they eat 3, go up to 3 1/4 next time, and keep doing that until they don't want anymore....HOWEVER they eat like their parents and if that was the case they would never stop so we never really did that!
So, we experiment during the day just b/c if we do it at night we're afraid they'd spit up and choke in their sleep. This may sound ridiculous but on Oprah, that woman who was on there claiming to have found a secret language of babies said the sound "NEH" is I'm hungry. When they did that after 2 1/2 oz. we knew we had to up it that's why we're at what we're at. HTH!

Re: feeding question
Luca will be 4 weeks old on Thursday and I've been giving him 2.5 ounces of BM about once a day for the past week. I primarily BF, but he gets a bottle when I need to be away from him. I think now that he's going to be a month old I will probably up it to 3 ounces.

Re: feeding question
Thanks. She is just 5 days old - I didn't expect her to be that hungry! I'll up it to 2 1/2 per feeding to see if that does the trick.
