Feedback on Stride Rite in Roosevelt Field Mall

I see them located at Macy's and as a stand alone store.

Can you buy shoes at both?

Any feedback on this location? Foot measurement, etc...

Re: Feedback on Stride Rite in Roosevelt Field Mall

SR has it's own store in RF. I usually go there for my girls' shoes. Most employees are helpful and friendly, although I didn't care for one or two Chat Icon But all SR stores should be helping measure feet - I would think, at least!

Re: Feedback on Stride Rite in Roosevelt Field Mall

We had a bad experience at the one at Roosevelt field (the stand alone store) it was completely crazy and many of the shoes were off the shelves with people waiting to be helped and not much out. I tried to buy walkers for DD and the women kept insisting that 1) she didn't need them she needed cruisers (she was starting to take steps alone and her ped said get the walkers) and 2) told me that b.c she was a 3W there were almost no shoes in their store that would fit her so I had to get cruisers as almost all the walkers start at 4. I did get what I wanted in the end BUT - she was very rough with DD and was jamming her foot into the shoe and DD was crying and DH was really annoyed. I noticed when I was paying that she was not very good with the other kids either and was yelling at other parents. Honestly I would try to find another location. There is one in the Broadway mall - which when I went in they seemed quiet and very nice and helpful.

I have been going to an outlet by me to get DD shoes recently and have been very happy with the stride rites I get there.

I went on a weekday during the afternoon and had no problems at all. The sales people are not as knowledgeable about the shoes as I would like. But overall I walked out with 2 pair of shoes with DS.

went to the stand alone store, had a bad experience. The employees didn't seem that knowledgeable. When I asked to have DD measured, he grabbed her foot and wouldn't let go when she started to squirm, which in turn freaked her out, ever since then she bugs when they try to measure her feet at the store.

I did not know. I did a search of store locator and that one did not come up. Broadway is of course much better for me. That's what Llilykat was saying.

Thanks!

I haven't bought there but I have gone into the store - the girl was very nice and answered some questions - it was also quiet.

Re: Feedback on Stride Rite in Roosevelt Field Mall

I just bought Thomas walking shoes at Stride Rite in the Sunrise Mall (attached to Lobels). The day before, I went to Stride Rite in Roosevelt Field. Salesgirl at RF measured DS as a 4. The store was crowded and I was overwhelmed and couldn't decide what type of shoe I wanted and I had DH and stepsons with me (not good shoppers), so we left without trying anything on.

The next day, I went to Sunrise Mall. Salesgirl measured DS a 3 1/2 Wide. I was disturbed that the two different stores measures him differently. Most of the sneaker and sandal styles start at size 4, so we went with the traditional white walking shoe. The girl was nice, but after studying the website myself, I feel I was more knowledgable than she was. Also, the box was mislabeled and the girl was misinformed. It said the shoe was a stage 2, but after viewing the website and speaking with Stride Rite customer service, I learned that it is infact a stage 3.

The store was quiet until poor Thomas fell testing out his new shoes and hit his head on the wood bench! Chat Icon I actually had to leave the store with the shoes on his feet that we didn't pay for yet to get ice for his head!
