FB security question

how do i hide EVERYTHING about me???

i thought my FB account was pretty tight and private until yesterday.

i was working and the phone rang. i recognized the name on the caller id and freaked out. it was someone i briefly dated a few years ago... he has a VERY uncommon name, so i knew it couldn't be someone local.

it was a very awkward attempt at a "it's been a long time, how are you doing?" conversation.

in the two to three minutes he forced the conversation, he told me quite a few things he knew about my life from FB.

after the conversation, i logged onto FB to check my settings and tighten things up. but i'll be honest with you, i couldn't figure it out. lol i feel a little stupid that i wasn't able to get it.

can someone give me a dummy guide to tightening up my FB settings?

Did you try clicking the lock in the upper right hand part of the page and doing the privacy check up?

Next time don't pick up calls from past people/weirdos !

I would block him. On Facebook and your phone. Being you picked up and spoke to him, he probably got a good signal now.

But I very rarely answer the phone to anyone.

HE CALLED MY WORK NUMBER.... this is what freaked me out.

the crazy office manager was right there... i didn't know how to say, don't answer the phone that's someone from my past. all i need is for her to talk to her FH, and have all sorts of talk in the shop about "my ex."

so i answered the phone as if it were a customer.

i sometimes watch tv shows where someone has a stalker... at that moment, i slightly understood the shock and the feeling of being caught in headlights.

i'm SERIOUSLY thinking of deactivating FB

There is definitely a way to make your FB super private.
As in, people will only see your profile pic and cover pic and that's it.
I have seen people with that before.
You can't even send them a friend request.
I just am not sure how.

Go into your privacy settings. My page is super private, you can't see anything, not even my friends list, where I live, etc. Just my profile pic and cover page. It's all in the privacy settings. Also click onto your own timeline and hover over each section (friends, etc.), then click edit privacy
