favorite things for organization
What are your favorite things that you have bought/used to keep your house organized?

I placed a small basket on a ledge next to my front door. When I come home I immediately put my sunglasses and keys into the basket. I always know where they are.
Next to my front door I have a bench with baskets. Shoes go into the baskets. It is also really nice to have a place to sit to take my shoes off.
In my kitchen under my sink I have my trash can. Next to it I have my shredder. I look at mail and throw away what I don't need and shred documents with sensitive info. What I need is a system to get other things to be filed. Those seem to pile on my dining room table.

We put a wall organizer (got it from Pottery Barn) in our kitchen that has slots for mail, hooks for keys/purses/light jackets, a shelf for wallets and sunglasses, a dry erase weekly menu, and a cork board. It's a life saver!

Thank you for sharing! I love lists and writing everything down...this is perfect for me!
To answer the OP, we just moved in and I've hardly bought anything as far as organiszation goes  We have a file folder for all our important papers, we plan on getting a filing cabinet for my school stuff, and we have a bunch of storage bins. We're also very lucky and have alot of storage space in our house.
