Re: Favorite Disney hotel
if its in your budget, i would suggest one of the monorail hotels - Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary...the traveling will be much easier with a lil one.

ANY Disney hotel will be great for a toddler. However, like the PP stated, a hotel on the monorail will be your best bet (the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary). These are some of the most expensive Disney properties though.
In any event, with a toddler you will probably be focusing on the Magic Kingdom, so I would recommend a hotel in the MK area (Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness Cabins are also right outside MK).

and the Wilderness Lodge has the boat that goes directly to MK :)
i definitely would not recommend Animal kingdom lodge - its the furthest away from everything.

Re: Favorite Disney hotel
With a toddler, you are most likely going to spend the bulk of your time at Magic Kingdom. Staying at a resort in that same geographical area gives you the advantage of fairly fast and easy trips between the park and your resort.
While I almost always recommend a monorail resort when its in the budget, I have been most disappointed in the monorails reliability lately, and don't know that I would suggest spending the extra money.
So, if it is in the budget, my suggestion would be Wilderness Lodge. This has become a family favorite of ours and I highly recommend it.
If you find it is not in the budget, a number of other options are available, you just want to shy away from the resorts that would make navigating them with a small child more stressful.
Hope that helps!

Re: Favorite Disney hotel
We really enjoyed the Boardwalk Inn this time around. Its in the Epcot area, but its walking distance to Epcot which was nice for us and close to HS and DTD. Also really liked that they had entertainment and "stuff" going on at night, the kids enjoyed watching the magician and I (20 weeks preggo) really enjoyed teh funnel cakes!!
The only down fall for it, IMO was no food court, which is nice to have with kids.
We stayed at the Carribbean last year which is a moderate and was happy there too.

Re: Favorite Disney hotel
We love the Beach & Yacht Club. Great pool area with part a sandy bottom pool and great for toddlers to play in sand, can walk or take boat to Epcot and MGM, can walk over to Boardwalk, see fireworks from the bridge, sandy beach where they show movies at night.
We also love Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian but Beach Club is our favorite now while the kids are young and we try to spend a couple days just at the pool.
