Can someone answer a few questions about FP+?
I get how it works, but...
When should it be rolled out?
Will "legacy" FP still exist? Is FP+ just being added to rides that didn't have FP at all, or is it replacing legacy FP?
It's only for people who stay on property, correct?
How far in advance can you book your attractions?
Any other info?
Thanks!

Right now you have to be on site (still in testing). There has been double dipping but it seems like it is disappearing. They took away the cards from the values, expecting others to follow. Not sure when testing will end. No the old system will most likely be gone. But even if it isn't friends reported FPs were gone by early morning for the day. I think they are doing some testing with the swan and dolphin.
No clue when it will be final some say end of this year but you know it was originally said to test last spring so who knows for sure. But I would think they will be either rolling it out soon or doing more testing for off site, but who knows.
60 days out for those on property. The moderates and deluxes as of today get the band and a card (some reported old cards working).
They are tiering the rides at EPCOT and HS.
Kind of stinks for those offsite BBC the FP are running out very early in the day making it important to be at rope drop.

FP+ is in the process of being rolled out gradually now. Technically, it is still in testing phase.
Whether or not legacy fast passes will be completely gone is still up in the air. Disney is studying all of their options now and seeing how the ebb and flow of lines works with FP+
Yes, it is only for people staying onsite.
I believe you can start booking your FP+ rides 60 days in advance.
It's all part of the magic bands/my Disney experience app project. Disney has invested millions of $$$ into the project and it's huge so it is still very much in flex.

Legacy fastpass is going away. In fact it's gone at Animal Kingdom already (different parks are testing different aspects of the new system - for example, EPCOT and DHS are now tiered). It seems like what they are moving toward is NO paper fastpass at all. if you re onsite, you can schedule fastpass+ up to 60 days ahead and it's connected to your MagicBands. If you're offsite, you schedule them day of and they are connected to your RFID ticket.
It definitely takes some adjustment but so far the system works pretty well.

I feel dumb asking this... but what do you mean by tiered?

I am a planner, not extreme, but I like to have my day/week laid out. This is overwhelming. How can I decide what time I will be available for a ride with a 5 and 3 year old? Am I the only one feeling this way? Although I can just say, screw it, I will wing it all day, I worry that we will miss out on some rides because we are stuck waiting.

Yeah, we went in early Dec w/a 2.5 year old, and it was so stressful! I really missed the old way. You can change your FP as you go along, but sometimes the big rides were all gone for the day anyway. We did get to ride everything, but not as much as usual and the fp return lines got really long.
I have no idea what she meant by tiered.

Tiered....
HS and EPCOT now tier the FP+ choices. Pick one from column A..... And 2 from the rest. So at EPCOT you can ONLY get one FP+ from the top choices leaving the other two for ones that you really don't need. One choice now from...
Test tract Soarin Maelstrom Illuminations Character spot.
So now you can't FP+ soarin! TT, and maelstrom. You only get one of the big ones.

For those of you worried about having to plan out your FP+ 60 days in advance, just remember that you can make changes on the fly via your smart phone or on the kiosks in the parks. I tested it in October and it was a breeze.
I've been trained in all areas of My Magic Plus and My Disney Experience and would be happy to help anyone plan their trip. If you're already booked you may still be able to add me on as your agent at no cost to you.

The only problem with changing them on the fly or at a kiosk is the one you want has to be available. Many headliners will have little time choices day of. It will be easier to change to a lesser needed FP or a less desirable time.

This is true, but I didn't have any issues. I also suggest everyone print a copy of their fast pass times because the system has been known to randomly delete them or not allow them to work. If you have your "confirmation" the cast members will be able to help you or honor your times.
I still like being able to change the time on the fly since the "Legacy" fast passes didn't give you any flexibility that way. You couldn't choose your ride times and were at the mercy of the crowds and machine anyway so it's not entirely different.

Ah, ok, I called the tiered groups, so that is why I was confused. I understand it but hate it. Of course having FP for the rides that don't need it and shouldn't have it is stupid too, but I digress lol
When we went some of the fps we wanted to change to were not available or were only available when we weren't going to be in the parks. I was not impressed.
