Farmingville.
I know that there have been recent issues with Farmingville because of the recent migran worker situation. But other than that, how is the town? I know its in Sachem schools, which is good. But should the current situation be a major deterrent?

Re: Farmingville.
we briefly looked in Farmingville and yes it does have a LOT of migrate workers in the area, it isn't too bad. I personally liked it better than Medford which you were once thinking about.

It is only in certain sections of Farmingville. We have a friend who lives there and it is a really nice area.

How do you know which sections?
Like this one for example -

I know where my friend lives, in the hilly section, it is nice up there. I think more towards North Ocean Avenue, Horseblock Rd. is the badder section. That is where are the immigrants congregate and they live closer to those areas than way in by the hills.

Lauren, I know Jen2999 mentioned the other day that she lives in Farmingville. You should send her an FM. (or hopefully she'll see this...)

Re: Farmingville.
I live in Farmingville, west of Nicholls Rd. andthe " migrant workers" are non exisitant over there... yes there are parts over by North Ocean that have them standing out at 7-11 and stuff BUT they don't bother anyone.. I highly reccommend the area . I have 2 boys one school age and I wouldn't move if they paid me. The schools are awesome the neighborhood is great .... It depends on people's preference, but ever town has certain issues.... Farmingville has gotten a bad rap because of the situation but again it's not as bad as they make it out to be. It is a great middle to upper class neighborhood . My neighborhood happens to be very nice and I have quite a few suffolk cops that live down the street from me, so I feel more than safe... Safe enough to leave my truck unlocked in the driveway with my keys in it..... If you need anymore info let me know!!!

Re: Farmingville.
I have family that lives in Farmingville, really nice neighborhood. I found some nice houses there that I wanted to go see (stuck west of Nicholls)....but my realtor persuaded me not to go to that area
There are some great houses with great prices over there!

Do you still commute into the city? That would be a long ride for you.
