Family Plan and dropping a line
Say this family plan has 4 lines on it in addition to the main one (the one whose name is on the account), can you drop one or two of those lines withough cancelling the contract for all of them?
p.s. this is AT&T
TIA!

I believe you can drop any of them except the main one.

Re: Family Plan and dropping a line
You can drop any of the lines so long as it's still not under contract.. even though it's a family plan, each individual line has it's own contract for 1 year.. (can't remember if it's 1 or 2 years? I think it may be 2?) meaning that you can't drop it unless the contract term is up..

You can also change which one is your anchor (main) line as well..

How much would it cost to cancel?

I *think* it was $250 per line.
I had a similar issue (had two lines) and I ended up disconnecting/disabling them (so I only pay the monthly 9.99 each until the contract is up) but I don't incur any additional fees on top of that that I would incur if I were using them.. I don't even have phones for those lines..

Re: Family Plan and dropping a line
all the lines are under seperate contracts, so you might be able to ...
you might be able to work something out with the wireless company if you call and get a nice person on the phone tho eta: ask them if they can waive the fee since youre still keeping all the other lines... you can offer to extend your contract with one of the other lines also

You can cancel it. If a contract still in place for the telephone number you are going to cancel, you are charged a cancellation fee usually from $150+.

Re: Family Plan and dropping a line
I read the title and for a good 30 seconds thought it was about how many kids you want to have and dropping a line of cocaine. I don't even know if that is the right terminology. I am so dumb.
