Failed the 1 hr test
so i failed the 1 hour glucose test and have to get the 3 hr test. what does that involve and anything i should do to prepare? im almost 29 weeks, i'm just worried that if i have GD its so late already- does this have any impact on the baby?? or this is the normal time you would find out about GD?

I wouldnt stress too much. Many of us failed the one hr and then passed the 3 hr.
I passed the 3 hr with flying colors so you just never know.
The 3 hr is the same as the 1 hr you just have to sit there for 3 hrs since they take blood at 0, 1, 2, and 3 hrs.
Fast the night before and go int he morning if possible.
This is normal time to find out.

I agree with all of this...With my DD I faild the 1 hr and had no probs with the 3 hr...I agree to avoid sweets/sugars the night before (I didnt with the 1 hr and I swear that was the reason  ) and go first thing in the morning before breaskfast! I did that for the 1 hr for my DS and this one #3 and had no issues!

Im sorry you failed. Bet you wont fail the three hour. I know alot of girls that failed the one hour and had no problem passing the three  I have a quick question I go for this test in a month. How fast did you get the results back if you dont mind me asking please.

Ditto... but I was told to watch it on the sweet stuff.
The 3 hr drink is twice as sugary as the 1 hour.

the baby is fine, 29w is normal to do take the 1hr/3hr. i failed the 1hr and passed the 3hr, and i know a lot of others who passed the 3hr after failing the 1hr also. good luck!!
