can you recommend one that:
goes on softly
has a sharpener with it or self advances
does NOT run!

Not sure if you would be open to trying a gel eyeliner, but you'll never have to worry about it smearing or running. I've been using Bobbi Brown Gel eyeline and I love it!!

makeup forever's waterproof eyeliner goes on really smoothly and stays on!
I don't wear liner anymore, but I swore by it for years.
It doesn't have a sharpener and doesn't self-advance though.

MAC Fluid Line is awesome and I've been using Maybelline Liquid Eyeliner for year-- its like a little felt-tip marker.
