Eyeglasses nosepad marks
I just got my eyeglasses adjusted and they decided to change the nose pads. I have such terrible marks now and pain. I was told there should not be a problem with the new silicone pads. So it was adjusted again after I went back againand it is awful. I was better off with the old nose pads. Does anyone else have this problem? I know it is such a little thing in spite of everyday life, but it is at the point where I dread taking my contacts off at the end of the day and that is not good as I was told to not wear the contact too long. Just wanted to see if there are other options someone discovered

What type of pads did you have before? Can you switch back to that style again? If they bother you, I would hope that the eyeglass place would want to help you remedy that, since you need to wear them every day...

I had smaller pads. Not sure of the type, but they were not silicone, which is what I have now. They were harder. They told me the silicone ones were the best and best for what I am complaining of, but when I take the glasses off, the pads are embedded and stuck to my nose and leave deep terrible imprints. While I had marks with old pads, not like this. I have been there three times trying to fix this. They have been good about it, but insist on the silicone pads but will switch me back to old ones. I am just curious if anyone has had this and if there is a better option.

It sounds like they are just too tight. Can you push the metal pieces out further that the nose pads are attached to?

Are you just getting the marks or pain/redness/itchy? I'm allergic to some kind of pads - I dont know which. But when I get the wrong kind I go back and they switch them.
That being said, I still have the indentions constantly.

I am getting very deep marks, redness and pain. While the old pads did leave a little mark, it wasn't like this. Although the glasses were a bit loose and needed to be adjusted, which is what brought me there and when they changed my nose pads to the "better pads" silicone they say. I guess I am better off going back to the pads I had. They were small and hard, but less marks and problems.

I thought of doing this, as I did it before I went when they changed the nose pads, but I am afraid I am going to screw up the whole alignment the way I will be holding the glasses

Then I would take them back and ask them to do it. I used to have those type of glasses, and did it all the time to them. I only wear them at night though, so if I screwed them up, it wasn't a big deal to me. Now I have glasses without nosepads though, so no issues

Re: Eyeglasses nosepad marks
Ask for the ones you like. I have found that even with silicone, some of them are better than others. Some even gave me swelling. Now I try not to wear glasses that have nose pads at all. I wear plastic frames. They don't bother me. For a while my mom was wearing rimless frames that had no nose pads. The lenses just rested on her nose.
