Eyebrow Threading RAVE!
Ok...so my eyebrows have been seriously lacking some shape for quite a while now. I usually just tweeze, with an occasional wax, but I decided today I wanted to try threading.
I had no idea where to go, so I just took a drive to Hicksville, b/c I know there are lots of indian salons there. I went to New Look Salon on Old Country Rd, and the girl did an AWESOME job!
I just told her that I needed shape, and she did her thing. I will totally be going back every 2 weeks now. They were sooo nice, and I got no comments on other things that I need done like at the nail salon.
Of course it hurt a little, but so does waxing and tweezing. Just one of those things we have to bear with to look pretty!
Anyone thinking of doing it...go!
ETA: It was only $5!!!

Threading rocks!
My new place is a booth in tricounty flea market.
Only prob, oly open Thur-sun
She is awesome and just recently fixed my messed up eyebrows.
love her and how she does my eyebrows!

Mine were really messed up too...You'd never know now!
I was going to try a booth that I saw, but I didn't like that everyone walking by would be staring at me.

i went to pooja last time - they were great. $5 and about 45 seconds.
I've tried a few places, but my absolute favorite is Nina's Herbal Salon and Shanaz on Commack Rd in Commack. I think my brows looked the best they've ever looked on my wedding day...I was getting them threaded every 4-5 weeks in the 6 months leading to the wedding.

Can someone recommend a place in the Mineola/Westbury/Garden City area? I have gone to the kiosk in The Source 2 times and it's really good, but for $10 + tip, that's expensive. Where can I find it locally cheaper so I don't have to feel like it's such a splurge? Thanks!!! :)

I love threading and don't bother with wax anymore...much faster and I can them done at lunch while I'm work and not worry about being all puffy and red...
FYI: For you Whitestone/Bayside/Flushing girls - they are opening up a threading salon in Whitestone right on 14th ave - in the new strip mall they just built...excited about this - having to drive out to the Mall or going in the city is too expenisve and PITA.

I just got my eyebrows threaded today at Sugar Sugar in Port Jeff. I never thought i would do this, but it really worked out nicely and i don't think i will go back to waxing.
