Eye Infections...
my persian cat is very prone to getting eye infections
however- lately he gets one for 12 hours or less and then it's gone
he totally had one last night- yucky stuff on his face and everything
today I was going to call the vet- but it's gone
anyone else experince this?

My cat gets them too. First time at the vet they diagnosed him with Chlamydia!!! Not the same as people get (why do they name it that then!!). Then he got it a month later..back we went and they said since it is recurring it is Herpes..not same as people get (again why name it that!). Usually it goes away with medicine in a couple of days..but he will have a "bad eye day" once in a while and then it is gone in a day.

My dog gets them alot. But part of that is from doggie day care - being around other dogs and getting dirt in his eyes from rough-housing. My vet said it could also actually be allergies.....but I am not sure how often kitties get them.

My cat is a cat flu cat, as someone mentioned it is like a herpes virus, I don't know what they call it in the US. She gets it when she is stressed. It is usually just a clear liquid.

today he has clear liquid coming out of his eye
his face is all wet
I know he has gotten them before when he is stressed
but I really don't know what he would be stressed about now
