exercising?
I went to the gym yesterday and I was afraid of exerting myself too much- so I tried not to let my heart rate get over like 120/130- which according to the chart at the gym was considered "low intensity" for my age (30) but I felt like I barely even broke a sweat! I just did the bike and the treadmill.
I put on a little weight in the past year which I was hoping to lose before getting preg. But that didn't happen. So I really want to get in shape as much as possible. I dont want to get huge and then not be able to lose it after I have the baby.
Anyone have any good work out tips on how to stay healthy and in shape while pregnant without overdoing it? Unfortunately my gym is a Planet Fitness and doesn't have classes.

You should not be starting anything new! Just keep doing low impact stuff. Walking bike etc. Now is not the time to worry about weight. I truly believe we gain what we are supposed to gain. I never worked out and ate what I wanted and my Dr never said anythign about what I gained. I know people who ate perfectly heathy and gained and poeple who ate carbs and never exercised and gained little.....Our bodies take over and at this point you just ahve to listen to it.

Re: exercising?
If you're wanting to eat healthy do a search and see what some people ate who have/had GD.
You only need 300 calories more a day while pregant.
Keep exercise low impact. Walking and Pregnant pilates.

Re: exercising?
I had continued taking my kick boxing class until about 16 weeks, but then found that I couldn't keep up with the class, so I stopped. It is hard to keep up with the same level of exercise. It was suggested to me to just keep walking and moving.

I continued to do my routine..light jog in beginning, Tae Bow and free weights walking elliptical...BUT now that Im 23 weeks its hard.. I mean I feel the extra weight in my body..wowzers. I do 20min work outs on Demand and walk 2miles a couple days a week. I even wear ankle weights or hand weights when I walk to tone up. Stretching exercises are awesome too, get you ready for birth and keep you loosened up.
