Excessive saliva and drooling after tonsillectomy?
I know probably a stupid question and probably to be expected but I have to ask, is it normal?
His surgery was Monday and he was drooling but he seemed better yesterday. He was eating pudding, even ate a cupcake and drinking a little. Today he woke up and is refusing to eat or drink anything and he has excessive saliva and is drooling, to the point where he is letting the saliva pool in his mouth. I called the ENT and spoke to a nurse who said it is totally normal but I just expected him to get better every day, not for it to get a little worse on the 3rd day. I know his tongue is also hurting him because he told me obviously from the frenulotomy.

From what I was told, it gets worse before it gets better with tonsillectomy so I think this is perfectly normal.
