My bag is overpacked b/c I have done too much shopping Chat Icon and my bags are over the 50 lb. limit. My question is I am flying two separate airlines- American to LA and then Air Tahiti to Sydney. I *think* my baggage will get transferred automatically when I get to LA as it was when I came here, so I don't think I have to re-check in everything. Because this airlines don't have an alliance, as far as I know, I am worried that I will have to pay two separate overweight fees.

Anyone know?
