Was there in May 2008 - BEAUTIFUL resort, AMAZING spa, great rooms, grounds, pools - Beach is 'eh', food is 'eh' drinks are less than impressinve -

for the price, I was not impressed overall

LOVED IT!

I have been tp Sandals Bahamas, Riu Jamaica, and Occidental Aruba..

this was heads and shoulders over those.

No reservations needed at resturants like most all inclus--we really liked the food--they have an awesome Lobster House

Our room was gorgeous all rooms are suites with a huge jacuzzi, terrace with day bed

We were there November 1st through the 8th. It was beautiful but extremely rainy (not the resort's fault though). There was nothing do except for the obvious during the bad weather and for us it lasted almost the whole time we were there. Also, there was a wedding party there while we were there and when it wasn't pouring they were in the pool being obnoxiously loud and I couldn't believe the staff did nothing to calm them down! They made it seem like a college spring break location with all of their "wooooooooos" and loudness.

We went there in September for our anniversary and LOVED it! We had a rooftop terrace room and it was AMAZING! The roof has a private plunge pool and 2 beds. Then you have the regular balcony off the room with another bed and the jacuzzi looking out on it. The shower was huge and had 2 shower heads. Sorry, I know I'm going on about the room, but it was seriously the best room we ever stayed in.

The resort was really great as well. We love the Excellence chain because they really live up to their name. The food was good, drinks were good (not "weak" by any means), and plenty of pools with hammocks over them and beds nearby. The beach isn't the most beautiful, but it was still really nice.

The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I got really sick on the bike tour and the guide arranged for us to be picked up and brought back to our room. Then the front desk called to see if I needed the doctor. I thought it was great.

It was probably the best trip we've been on and I'm having a hard time finding something to compare this year.
