Excel Test for an Interview

I have to complete an Excel Test as part of the interview process for a job.

Does anyone know what types of functions would be on an Excel Test?

I want to brush up on my skills!

I would LOVE to do that!!! Chat Icon

If it's beginner, it would probably just be copy, paste, format painter, formatting a cell, drag down, simple formulas, etc.

If it's more advanced, they may have you build a graph, pivot table/chart, or more advanced formulas.

Good luck!

I don't know how to build a graph! lol

I can do pivots very easily.

I need to brush up on vlookup, if statements - those types of things.

Know any good tutorials?

A graph is pretty easy. I’m excel self taught through youtube tutorials
Im not great at it because I don’t give It enough time but there are quite a few online. Just check YouTube

Honestly, a graph is super easy. Excel basically walks you through the steps. Just practice yourself or Google it. The Excel help will explain it, too.

Re: Excel Test for an Interview

If possible use the function button for formulas (Fx). Setting up a graph is easy, I think the tricky part on test will be making sure you represent the data well in the Graph.

We used to do this at my old job, where they would give a brief description of the data and what we want to see and it was up to the tester to put it in a graph. So deciding what the data points are, X and Y axis, what type of graph to use.

Excel Test for an Interview

I had to take a computer test including excel. they will ask you to perform certain tasks, problem for most including me is they use technical words and YOU cant use short cuts. So, if you know how to perform x by using short cut, you cant you must complete the task in steps. I found I know how to use excel but "my form" of excel.

Its not about basic vs advance. If you have questions PM

So my husband had to do like 10 questions, manipulate basic functions, graphing etc. anything he had to do you were able to find on google. It was like 5 years ago and I vaguely remember him doing it. It was timed as well, if you want you can FM me the place I’ll see if he knows anything or can help
