Ever heard of not taking the glucose test?
My cousin's wife who is due a week or so after me told me that her doctor says she does NOT have to take the glucose test.
Have you ever heard of this?
She has definitely been having the perfect pregnancy it seems, but I honestly thought this was a requirement.

i never heard of that. everyone i know had to do that awful gross test.

Where I live, you don't take it unless you are a high risk pregnancy. I don't know anyone who has done one. Its different in lots of places.

you can refuse any medical procedure...years ago, pregnant woman never did this test. next pregnancy, I will not do it again as I had a bad reaction.

My Dr said it wasn't required, but he recommends it to all patients, same with the level II.

Where do you live?
I did not know this was an option.
I am in the UK, we have lots of choices with our pregnancies and we don't see doctors, we only see midwives. The glucose test is only done if you are high risk. Of course its done if your doctor feels its necessary, but its not done as a normal procedure.

I had a perfect pregnancy too and at 27 weeks I took the glucose test and had developed gestational diabetes. I had no symptoms and felt great so honestly, it doesn't matter how "perfect" your pregnancy is...........you could still develop diabetes and not know it. It's so important to take the glucose test. If GD goes undiagnosed there could be serious complications for baby and mom.
