Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
Everyone keeps saying how small I am that I sometimes think maybe I am not big enough. Crazy I know, but does anyone else feel this way?
I have a long torso and I've gained 20 lbs at 31 weeks. Doc says I'm perfect, I just wonder...

I did early on, but at this point, I definitely have a big belly, and I'm getting "are we having twins" and "nice to see all 3 of you" comments from people.
If your doctor says you are fine, most likely you are, so try not to worry about it. Everyone carries differently.

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
having a smallish belly definitely makes me nervous. especially when people look at me funny when i tell them how far along i am. i especially get annoyed when people use the word "tiny" my baby is growing just fine, thank you very much!
the one consolation i have had is having my belly measure to date every week - that was how i knew my baby was okay. this week was the first week that i actually SHRUNK - measured 35 weeks at 37 weeks, whereas last week i measured perfectly at 36 weeks. doc says not to worry, it's because the baby has actually sunk into my pelvis... but i can't help but be nervous about it...

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
I'm 30 weeks and have gained 20 pounds, but people tell me I'm so small, so I started having a complex about it. I don't have a long torso, but I'm kind of petite to begin with. But at my doc appt today she said I was measuring right on schedule, so I'm not worried. And at my sono she was measuring a good size too. Everyone just carries differently. I was told my grandma carried small too.

I have the opposite problem, I am carrying big all in my belly. So for awhile I was actually nervous that maybe there was a baby B hiding in there somewhere!!!
I wouldnt worry too much, everyone carries differently.

I'm 32 weeks and have only gained 16lbs and my belly is not that big at all. The dr. said everything looks fine and I'm measuring good so I try not to worry too much. Everyone carries differently.

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
I got the same thing the whole time I was pregnant up until the last 4-5 weeks.
I have a very long torso too, so I don't think it shows as much on our body types.
But at 36 weeks. Woah boy. People started to comment on how HUGE I was then.

If your doc says you're fine, then you're fine! Someone in my office asked me if I was sure I'm not having twins yesterday. This beyatch is full of little gems like this..
Trust me, the other side of the coin isn't any better.

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
With DD I carried small. At DS's 12 month dr.s visit the ped asked me how far along I was and I told her 7 months and she was shocked. She thought I was 5 maybe 6. She actually asked me if anything was wrong with the baby. I gained 20lbs total and at that point I only gained maybe 10lbs. My DD was 8.13.
People are always gonna have something to say whether you are big or small.

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
I've always had a belly that people commented was 'too big' for my time. I think people just 'talk' and what do they know?
I always felt fine, because everytime I went to the OB he measured my belly. Since he felt it grew fine, I was appeased with that.

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
I worry about this too. I am a little taller then 5'10". I have a long torso and I really don't look that big. My family is tall. Dad is 6'7" heck grandma was 6' tall. My mom is 5'7 not tall but not short. Dh is an inch taller then I am. I was worried but the doctor said the baby is good and not to worry. Then I found out at my 20 week scan and the baby is only on the 31st percentile and I am freaked again. I don't see the doctor till next week and am going to question this. How can I (who comes from the land of the giants) have a small baby?

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
Yes, but only after my doctor was concerned that DS was measuring small.
If the doctor thinks you are fine, then don't worry about it.
ETA: I only gained 3lbs TOTAL while I was pregnant, DS was 6lbs, 11oz so I actually was 3lbs LESS than my pre-preg weight right after I gave birth

Re: Ever get nervuos that your belly isn't big ENOUGH?
I do. I'm almost 17 weeks with twins and a lot of people still can't even tell I'm pregnant yet. So that worries me. I have a short torso and am only 5'2".
