Ever cruised "Sovereign Of The Seas"

Ship Name: Sovereign Of The Seas
Departure Port: Port Canaveral, Florida
Ports of Call: Port Canaveral, Florida; Nassau, Bahamas; Cococay, Bahamas; Port Canaveral, Florida

I'm thinking of booking this trip for Dh and I in October as a Welcome Home trip..

Has anyone been on it before?

Have you ever been in a balcony room before, is it worth it?

Thanks!

We actually went on a similar cruise when we were dating back in 2001 on the Majesty of the Seas out of Ft. Lauderdale.

Re: Ever cruised "Sovereign Of The Seas"

Never been on that ship, but we went on a cruise for our honeymoon. We got a balcony and I was happy we did. Even though you don't spend a whole lotta time in the cabin, I think I would have gone crazy if I wasn't able to see/go outside.

Is there a large difference in price between room with and w/out balcony?

250 bucks approx for us pp difference and due to the numerous cicumstances for why we are going. I thinka balcony would be priceless.

In the past we did inside when we were dating and we got a window for our honeymoon (only b/c we couldn't get a balcony)

I was asking about their particular itenarary..... I know the differences can be great, but sometimes if you get a good deal it's not that much more. We decided to get a room with a balcony bc it was only $100 more pp. I guess we got lucky.

Re: Ever cruised "Sovereign Of The Seas"

I've been on this ship, and we did that exact itinerary.

It's a small(er) ship compared to others out there, but that's good if you're first time cruisers. Don't want to get lost on the ship!

Balcony rooms are very nice, but we never pay the extra $$$ for them, because we're never in the room. They're larger than the inside cabins, too.

That was was a great cruise, but we quickly learned that Nassau is not such a happy, nice, place. Take the water taxi over to Paradise Island instead of walking around the Nassau Straw Market. Those people are CRAZY! If you show a smidgen of interest in something, they'll follow you around and hound you like CRAZY to buy it.

Snorkeling off CoCo Cay is great.

Royal Caribbean is a nice cruise line. Nice age range, good food, shows and nightlife are fun, too.

You're going to have a blast!
