Evening Bridal Shower
My friend is getting married and her bridal shower is a Saturday Evening. Anyone ever hear of that? If so did you like it better than one being during the day?
I am looking forward to it, I just never heard of that before. I am so happy I will have my whole day to myself

I've never been to an evening shower. However, I wouldn't mind going to one. I would have the whole morning to get stuff done.

hmm... i've never been to one, but i don't think i would be upset about it or against it.
it actually seems kinda nice to not have it right in the middle of the day. now that ithink about it, it feels like day time showers really take up the whole day- by the time you get dressed up and ready to go, drive there,have the shower, and drive back... it takes up the whole day, that i usually would spend doing stuff i need to get done.
so, it makes sense to at least have the whole day free...

I went to one and it was a lot of fun. It was a "cocktail party" theme and it was a nice change from the usual brunch/lunch shower.

Not a bridal shower, but my cousin's baby shower was a "Girl's Night Out" shower. It was at my other cousin's house, and she had dinner catered in, and made drinks for everyone but pregnant cousin- it was a great time!

I went to one evening bridal shower, it was a dinner with cocktails afterwards and it was a nice change of pace.

my sister has gone to a lot of them. she works in a school that is run by Orthodox Jews...and many of the girls she works with have had their showers on a saturday nite---after the sabbath.

I went to one, but it was really more of a bachelorette party with a stripper.....which was news to everyone except the 2 women who planned it.

Me too!! A middle of the day shower has a way of taking up almost a whole day.

I had 2 showers - one in OH where DH's family lives and one in NY. since we had so many OOT guests and many of them were close family, my NY shower was on the Thursday evening before my wedding. not the most ideal situation, but it was unusual circumstances. it was a small gathering.... everyone who was invited came and it was over by 9pm.

i think it's a nice change from the usual day time showers... the only negative i think would be that it might alienate some older women guests (Grandmas, older aunts, etc.)
